Collective Memories

These are a series of watercolor paintings depicting fond memories, places, and people while studying abroad in Italy. The works are painted on paper made from 100% Italian cotton I bought abroad, linking memory to location. Looking at the reference photo in black in white, I painted each piece using colors from memory. These colors depict my emotional experiences and tells a story about one’s mental state.
